Note: The Academic Center is currently under construction. Please check out our interim location in the Residential Serivces Trailer located just east of the Academic Center.
Located on the corner of Jackson and Monroe, the Academic Center provides services for UC Berkeley students, both undergraduate or graduate. Spouses of UC Berkeley students and adult relatives are also welcome at any time.
The Academic Center has PCs, Macs, 2 scanners, and a multitude of useful software packages installed on the machines. Printed pages can be purchased at a low cost through your Cal 1 Card. Low cost report binding, faxing, and copying services are also available.
Academic Center Hours (mid-Aug to mid-May):
- Monday through Friday, 8a.m. to 8p.m. (closed 12 to 1 p.m.)
- Sat: Closed
- Sun: Noon to 8 p.m.
Closed on all major holidays.
Residential Computing Consultant Drop-In Hours
ResComp consultants will help fix your laptops and give advice about any computer problems you are having. All services are free for Village residents. See the ResComp website for more details.
- Only current residents of the Village are allowed to use the Computer Center.
- No food, drink, or talking on cell phones.
- Viewing pornography and other offensive materials is not permitted.
- Dependents under age 18 are not permitted to use the Computer Center facilities.

Study rooms are located in Bldg. 160, Apt 105 in West Village, and Bldg. 123, Apt 456 in East Village. East and West Village apartment door keys will open the study room. Study rooms are available 24/7 for use unless maintenance and custodial work is required in the space. Wireless internet and study tables are available for use.
Computer Resources & HelpDesk
If you are having a problem with your computer, you can contact Residential Computing. The helpdesk phone line (510.642.HELP or 510.642.4357) can assist you during normal operating hours. You can also set up an appointment to have a computer technician come to your home and fix the problem. For more information, see the Residential Computing website.
