About The Berkeley Food And Housing Project

 

BFHP is an organization that runs shelters and resource centers for under-housed and disadvantaged members of the Berkeley community.

BFHP accepts items in the following categories:

 

1. New, unopened hygiene, personal care, and bath products.

Especially:

-Band-aids

-deodorant

-female hygiene products

-wet wipes

-hand sanitizer

 

2. New, unused clothing items.

Especially:

-Rain Ponchos

-Socks

-Underwear

-Sweatpants (especially size xl)

-Sweatshirts (especially size xl)

 

3. Sealed, unopened shelf stable food and drink items.

Especially:

-Beef Jerky 

-Protein Bars

-Applesauce and Pudding Cups

-Water Bottles

-Nutritional drinks and shakes

 

Students at the UC village afterschool program will be holding a community-wide Donation Drive to benefit the Berkeley Food And Housing Project.

 

We are reaching out to ask for your participation in the donation drive. If you would like to donate, please bring the items to the UC village community center. Additionally, several donation boxes will be set up in secure locations around the University Village.

 

Due to health and safety concerns, BFHP cannot accept any used clothing, used bedding, unsealed bath and hygiene products, or unsealed food products. Therefore, please ensure that all donations are new, and that food and hygiene items remain sealed.

 

BFHP’s Current top needs: 
-New twin-sized blankets and comforters
-New Pillows
-Rain ponchos and rain pants 
-New casual clothing (larger sized, especially men’s)
