VRA Board Members

                

  

The Village Residents Association Board is composed of residents (both students and non-students) who want to make an impact on the community. The Board meets monthly to discuss issues of importance to Village residents. The Board plans public meetings, approves funding requests, writes letters to campus officials, and advocates on behalf of Village residents.

Koko Mulder

I am an undergraduate in Sociology in my Junior year at UC, and a mother of two daughters, ages eight and ten. My girls attend Ocean View Elementary, and I’ve lived in Albany and Berkeley on and off for thirty years. We are relatively new to the Village, and I am very excited about the unique international community here, and the possibilities that offers.

I enjoy old movies and games, and particularly enjoy planning and participating in the different recreational events held for Village families. I’d love to hear suggestions from residents!

 

McKenzie Oliver

My husband and I moved to the Village in August 2007. He is pursuing two undergraduate degrees in Math and Physics. I studied at San Diego State University earning a BS in Exercise Science & Nutrition and a MPH in Health Promotion.

I am currently a health literacy researcher in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley and hope to pursue a doctorate here at Berkeley.

Outside of work and school we enjoy many outdoor activities, such as cycling and hiking.

 

Alexei Serdiuk

Alexei graduated from National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, Ukraine with a degree in Sociology. His wife studies Landscape Architecture and their son attends middle school.

Alexei is a Certified Supply Chain Professional, currently running Production Planning/Scheduling at Celera in Alameda. His past experience includes roles in Inventory Management, Procurement and Logistics at Genentech and Applied Materials. He aims to apply his skills and assist residents in making the Village a better and a more sustainable place to live.

Maile Urbancic, Secretary/Treasurer

As the VRA Secretary/Treasurer, I handle the operational details behind the VRA. My husband and I have lived in the Village for four years with our two children. My academic background is in mathematics and educational psychology.

My personal interests involve creating economic opportunities for residents and increasing the availability of information about the Village to residents.
